Case Study - Hayley Orrell Designs
Hayley contacted me after deciding to go freelance with her graphic design business. As a designer Hayley already had a strong sense of her brand and came well equipped with the tools of her trade and a good selection of clothes and props that aligned to her brand.
Hayley’s brand is vibrant and playful and we wanted to capture a wide variety of images so that they could be used for at least a year across her website and social media without looking samey. We started off at a local cafe and then moved to Hayley’s home where we used various rooms and set ups to maximise the variety.
Hayley was open about not being too comfortable in front of the camera so we kept the session informal and included plenty of detail shots and indirect views of Hayley so that she could look natural in her work and not too posed for the camera.

Case Study - Wild Yogis
Yoga teacher and wellness expert Jo has been a regular client of mine for several years. The Wild Yogis brand is ‘oudoorsy’ and connected to nature with a focus on gentle approaches to wellbeing. Jo is a vibrant personality with a real drive to support people and make yoga accessible for everyone.
Over the years we have a created a bank of images covering Jo herself, her classes and her community. Her brand colours of orange and purple draw these shoots together with a cohesive visual identity and give Jo easy access to a range of images for her website and social media.

On Location Headshots
If the thought of a studio headshot fills you with dread, then don’t worry you’re not alone. Whether on their own or as part of a bigger personal branding session, an on-location (sometimes called environmental) headshot is a great alternative to the studio. Capturing you, in your happy place, an environmental portrait also tells your customers and clients a bit about you and what you can do for them.
Plus, if you’re having a personal branding session, we will normally wait until you’re comfortable and you’ve forgotten I’m a photographer and then we’ll grab a painless shot or two that you can use as your profile image.
